Cycle Safety Initiative in London

ODA launches new cycle safety initiative in London ODA Chairman John Armitt and cycle safety campaigner Cynthia Barlow will be helping distribute Fresnel lenses to lorry drivers, which are a simple and effective measure that can be used to increase safety for cyclists. Live acts for VISA London 2012 party announced

The first acts for the VISA London 2012 Party in The Mall on 24 August were announced today. The acts announced were The Feeling, Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins and McFly. There will be more acts announced in the coming weeks, including collaborations and specially-arranged performances. 40,000 people will gather in front of Buckingham Palace to watch the show, celebrating the Handover of the Olympic Games from Beijing to London. Get Set London roadshow back for the summer

The Get Set London roadshow will be touring the capital again in the summer, following its success earlier this year. The roadshow explains the opportunities created by the 2012 Games – including business, jobs, training and cultural activities. It will visit established and diverse events across the capital, including the RISE festival and the London Mela. Materials contract awarded for Olympic Park, London 2012

A key logistics contract has been won by Aggregate Industries UK Ltd due to its emphasis on recycled content and aim to deliver 99 per cent of materials by sustainable transport methods, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has today announced. Olympic Park construction gets early start

Construction officially started on the London 2012 Olympic Park today as the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) began work on the Olympic Stadium - three months earlier than originally planned. The work to create the permanent foundations for the Stadium was witnessed by Prime Minister Gordon Brown who had an opportunity to meet workers on site.
